Driving Goods Vehicles - Level 2 only
This qualification is specifically targeted at drivers, whoc can demonstrate a specified level of competence to conduct their job effectively. This involves a combination of driving skills and pre-driving preparation assessment.
7 Mandatory Units must be completed to achieve this awards
- Monitoring the loading of the vehicle by others
- Completing pre-driving preparations
- Maintaining the safety and securing of the load, self and property
- Awareness of driving conditions
- Operating the vehicle systems
- Driving the vehicle on public roads
- Driving the vehicle in restricted spaces.
For learners aged 25 years plus, Train to Gain funding may be available to fund the entire cost of this award, with free 20 hours of training.
Carry and Deliver - Level 2 only
This qualification is aimed at drivers of vans and motorcycles whose job role involves multi-drop deliveries, customer interaction and in some cases, dealing with financial transactions.
To achieve this qualification you must complete 6 mandatory units and 1 of the optional choices.
Mandatory Units

- Maintaining the safety and security of the load, self and property
- Contribute to the provision of customer service
- Complete pre-journey and post-journey procedures
- Planning the route and the delivery and collection of loads
- Transport goods and materials
Optional Units
- handling goods and materials
- Handling goods on motorcycle or pedcal cycle
For learners aged 25 years plus, Train to Gain funding may be available to fund the entire cost of this award, with free 20 hours of training.
Storage and Warehousing
Level 2 - this qualification os desigend for an employee working in such roles as warehouse operative or goods removals. To achieve the qualification they must complete 2 mandatory units plus 3 optional units.
Mandatory Units
- Contribute to effective working relationships
- contribute to the maintenance of health, safety and security in the workplace.
Optional Units
- Receiving loads and dispatching goods
- Placing goods in storage
- Assemble orders for dispatch
- Maintain the safety and quality of goods
- Maintain hygiene standards in handling and storing goods.

Level 3 - this qualification is designed for employees involved in supervision and management of warehouse or removal operations. To achieve this awards, they must complete 6 mandatory units and 1 optional unit

- Manage the receipt, storage and dispatch of goods
- Audit stock level and stock records
Optional Units
- maintain the quality of external services

Traffic Office
This qualification is available at level 2 only and is aimed for employees who work is such roles as a traffic clerk. To achieve this award they must complete all 8 Mandatory Units.

- Contribute to the provision of customer services
- Plan, organise and improve your work
- Investigate the suitability of collection and delivery points for loading and unloading
- Routing and scheduling of loads
- Allocate the resources for the transportation of loads
- Quote for the transportation of loads.
